Caring for your used home furniture and antique bedroom furniture

If the surface of your furniture is badly damaged or needs restoration, contact The Association of art and Antique Dealers (LAPADA) for assistance. For basic care, follow these simple rules:

• Wax your used home furniture and antique bedroom furniture with a quality polish with a beeswax base. Avoid spray polishes, and they contain harmful additives. Wax your furniture about once every few months, as wax buildup causes dullness and dust accumulation.
• Clean your used home furniture and antique bedroom furniture with a soft damp cloth or a clean chamois. Vinegar heavily diluted in water can be used on polished, undamaged wood only. Wipe cleaned area with a cloth and immediately dry with absorbent paper or a soft, dry cloth.
• Rings left by glasses on polished wood can sometimes be removed with a little Basso applied with a soft cloth. Before trying this, test a small area first to ensure that the cleaning agent isn’t damaging the surface.
